Although it may be impossible to be completely self sustainable everyone can take certain steps to having a more eco-friendly lifestyle to help improve and restore your relationship with the earth and the outdoors

sus·tain·a·bil·i·ty-/səˌstānəˈbilədē/
-the ability to be maintained at a certain rate or level. Ex. Attempting to maintain environmental sustainably
The earth provides a home and safe space to all of us which will no longer be true if we keep damaging and putting the earth at risk as well as the many species including us on the planet
I believe that the first step in sustainability is learning to appreciate nature and becoming familiar with what we're protecting but it is important that while your in and around natural spaces to not leave a negative effect for that defeats the whole purpose of being sustainable
With the leave no trace mouvement we leave nature better off and cleaner than we found it using techniques such as staying on the paths in order to not disturb nature and plant life, taking your garage with you to keep our natural spaces clean and just generally leaving the space as it is. If you do not have access to a natural space for example of you live in a city visiting botanical gardens or even having a small herb garden yourself are other ways to immerse yourself in nature to gain a greater appreciation of the world we live in
A good first step to reducing your impact on the earth is to reduce your carbon footprint the amount of carbon dioxide used or emitted by a single person taking action to reduce your carbon footprint can be as simple as walking instead of driving, using less plastic, try not to fly on planes and stopping or limiting activities that add to your carbon foot print.

Thank you for reading this post and I hope that you join me on my sustainability journey. This summer I will be attempting to become as sustainable and eco friendly as possible with a 68 day summer sustainability challenge from June 29th to September 4th and I will be attempting to reduce up to 50% of my carbon emissions and having a completely sustainable summer I will be posting to the blog weekly with a list of summer activities cleanup schedules and other related concepts I will put a sign up sheet an my Instagram @echo_activist best of luck and have a good summer
